Primary target audience profiling

To profile my primary target audience and to understand them, I will have to use the uses and gratification theory. For this i have found a
simple diagram. ->

Primary target audience profile

My Primary target audience is 16-18 year olds, in college and currently studying for their A-Levels. They can be either Male or female because most colleges are not gender specific. based on my survey, the Primary target audience is not very aware of what a college magazine would look like. However, they do know what they wold like to see. So, their knowledge is fair on the scale of low to fair to high and then to expert. Again, based on the survey, my target audience have said that they would very much like to see a image of a student on the cover of the magazine.

Demographics
(the basic knowledge of the target audience)

Age: 16-18

Gender: Male or Female

Class: Middle class

Social grade: C2 - B

Location: I will be making it
for college students at Bodmin college
so the location will be Bodmin and the surrounding areas.

Hobbies: Hobbies could include, gaming, drawing and sports.

Typical audience

Amber is a sixteen year old girl who currently attends Bodmin college sixth form. She likes to spend time with friends in her free time, either at break or in her free lessons. However she does like to learn about the success of peers and what is going on around the college. Amber, outside of school, does drawing and art. She lives in Bodmin with her siblings and parents who both work.

To link my magazine cover to Amber and the rest of my target audience, i will create a cover that looks relaxing and inviting. I will try to have minimal text because when you read a magazine, you want to relax. From this i have come up with a name for my mag. ' Unwind' i got the idea from a previous magazine called Skive and took the opportunity to think of words that would link to the words, relax, chill and calm.
