Origanal images

Image
The images below are what i intend to use in my cover and contents page.  They are of the library and Katie Price.  Everything went as i planned. The camera, However had a blurry viewfinder but apart from that, my images came out precisely how I would have hoped.

Photoshoot planning.

For my photoshoot, I would like to get a medium long shot of a student in a setting that would be associated with college. so , i have chosen the library for a setting. my student is Katie price who is in my media class. The camera i will use is a cannon 600D. I will use this camera because it is a steady camera that can take good crisp shots of the student and the surroundings. I would also like to get images of the library because it is a classic iconic setting within the school and i can use it for a story.

Primary target audience profiling

Image
To profile my primary target audience and to understand them, I will have to use the uses and gratification theory. For this i have found a simple diagram. -> Primary target audience profile   My Primary target audience is 16-18 year olds, in college and currently studying for their A-Levels. They can be either Male or female because most colleges are not gender specific. based on my survey, the Primary target audience is not very aware of what a college magazine would look like. However, they do know what they wold like to see. So, their knowledge is fair on the scale of low to fair to high and then to expert. Again, based on the survey, my target audience have said that they would very much like to see a image of a student on the cover of the magazine.  Demographics  (the basic knowledge of the target audience)  Age: 16-18  Gender: Male or Female  Class: Middle class    Social grade: C2 - B ...

Analysis of two college magazine covers

Image
1. Exeter University magazine.[cover]  Masthead. The masthead on this magazine is black and bold which links to the target audience of about 18-25. It is placed on the top half of the magazine and is the biggest text on the cover, this is why we know it is the masthead. Main Image T he main image is of the earth from space. This is relevant because it is a science like university. Information the information given in the front cover is extremely important because it allow the audience to know what is in the magazine. The information on this is, the date, issue number and stories that are in the magazine. however on magazines you buy there will be a barcode. Target audience The target audience of this magazine would be male and female students aged 18-25. however the secondary target audience would be 25 - 50, again male or female. The primary target audience would have a social status of a B or an A. The secondary target audience will be again a B or an A with maybe a...

AS G321 Print Brief

PRINT BRIEF Main task: the front page, contents and double page spread of a new music magazine All images and text used must be original, produced by the candidate, minimum of FOUR images per candidate. Preliminary exercise:  produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriately laid-out text and a masthead. Additionally candidates must produce a mock-up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of the programme.

Magazine Project

I have decided to choose the magazine brief because I know how challenging the film brief will be and Magazines are more suitable to what I want to do later on.
