DJ started in the 1940’s when jimmy
Saville threw a party, who, playedJazz records for his gusts at the party. Later, he became the first person touse turntables to playmusiccontinuously. After a party in the1950’s, One person said, ‘ It makesthe party more enjoyable and people are not as focussed on the music but more with the dancing andsocializing. This Revolutionisedthe way people listen to music at parties. In the 1950’s and 60’s people would be hired to DJ at parties and Promoters wouldcall themselves DJ’S. All throughout the United States hook upstations were being installed for parties and thus began thedisco age of the decades. This took the role of a DJ far and made the thought of having a DJ at a party a luxury and that thenled to the task of being a DJ, an art.You have to appreciate howDifficult it is to mix the rightsongs and which songs wouldgo with which made it easy to get workas a DJ if you know what you weredoing. The DJ industry made jobs anddreams when it came into the 1990’swhich was the decade of dance andclub music. With artists like BrittanySpears and Black eyed peas, the musicworld basically exploded after the 80’sthat had brought us some of the bestmusic in the past 100 years. Now’a’days, DJing is mainly used for
radio and creating remixes of well
known songs. An example of this
would be Robin Shulz ‘ waves ’It is a well-known song by
Mr Probs and then Robin Schulz
made a remix of it and it was
almost a re-birth of the song
and gave it another sitting in
the charts. The Main DJs that
we see in the u.k are Calvin Harris
and Nervo. they have both had
songs in the past 2 years and are
doing really well in terms of awards.W e all see the obvious reasons why
people aspire to be Djs and we all
know that it is easier to be a DJ
in the present day, where as backwhen it all started it was pretty muchimpossible, now you can do it all
from the comfort of your own home
and post it to social media and or
YouTube free.
As a DJ myself, I feel that the gift
of dj-ing came to me naturally and
it is not that easy to learn it.
