Audience profiling
People who write and create music magazines with a sub-genre of club relate to their target audience by doing a number of things, One is by using colours that relate to them. For example if the sub genre is rock, the colours would be black and dark. However, if the sub-genre was pop the colours would be pink and bright. From this we can then go on to say that rock is a more masculine magazine and pop is defiantly more feminine.
Another way would be the main image. The main image is very important to link to the target audience. If the magazine would be Club, you would expect to see a club artist. However on other magazines, like car magazines, you would see cars. - On fashion magazines you would see women wearing the clothes featured in the magazine. all of these above link to their target audience by, Club- men. Cars- Men Fashion - women. It is what immediately comes to mind when you hear those words. Women can relate because of the clothes and things the model on the cover is wearing. Men can relate because the car on the cover of the magazine would be a car they have or want to have. In Relation to music magazines, most women who read the music magazines aimed at women want to be the singer on the cover, however if the woman is appearing on the cover in 'erotic' clothing than that magazine could be tying to attract men.
Lastly, a final way they do this is by linking in with the genre of the magazine. For example, rock magazines would have a guitar somewhere in the main image of the magazine. Again, you could argue that it could link to another sub-genre like pop but it just highlights the genre more.

Physiological needs are the basics, food and water. the safety and surroundings are the health and employment. Love and belonging is the family and friends of the target audience. Self esteem is the amount of confidence and respect the person receives. Lastly the self-Actualization is the section where the target audiences thoughts happen it is there creativity and self-respect.
However, if i were looking at the phychographies of this magazine, above, it would be the personalty, Values, attitudes, lifestyles and interests. So, I think the target audience of mixmag would like club music, have a middle-class working life along with a middle-class pay and like to go out on a friday night.
Survey
Results...

This survey shows that the majority of people who did it do not particularly Read club magazines. 60% of them are women aged 10-20 years. This could tell me that they may read pop magazine and this may lead me to aim my products at older males for the target audience. The majority of people who took the survey said that they live in a village and because most of the people who took the survey are not in the sub-genre's audience profile, I will change this and aim for people who live in cities because they are more likely to read club magazines.
